This is my portfolio of all the creative endeavours I pursue.

Special Effects Makeup – Mixed Materials

I enjoy creating effects makeup, such as shown in the images below. These use a range of materials including latex, tissues, watercolour and makeup.

Creative Clothing Alterations

I have undertaken a number of projects where I have upcycled donated clothing and redesigned it to enhance the item.

Crochet Crafts

I create lots of different items using crochet and usually design and create these without the use of patterns or instructions. Such as this bag that I made as a gift for someone, as well as this clothing for a Build-a-Bear Frog.

Making Costumes

I enjoy making costumes, particularly period-style items, such as this apron I made.

One of my favourite character is Link form The Legend of Zelda franchise so after learning some techniques from my costume course I decided to make the costume from the game Ocarina of time using a printable pattern that I had bought on etsy.

This is after I had printed and cut the paper and then cut the fabric and placed the lining on the right pieces.

Masks

For new Years eve I attended a masquerade murder mystery party hosted by some close friend. We all had our own character with our own backstory that would create the story of the murder and what each character acted like. In advance of new years, I set out making masks for all the characters that people had chosen and made each mask match to that characters personality.

Polymer Clay Creations

These are some examples of smaller items I enjoy creating with Polymer clay.

Digital Artwork

Here is an example of some digital artwork that I created to support some storytelling writing.

Below are further examples of illustrations linked to creative writing.

Illustration in pen

Here is some further artwork done in pen that illustrates the cultural context for a fictional world I developed. This is an imagined leaf from this fantasy world, which has 100 seeds and glows in the dark, there is a legend that the leaves glow in the dark to aid travellers. Within the story, anyone who partakes in the drink, called Adam’s Mare, meaning Adam’s Ale, the name often given to water, could be seen to have negative connotations and see the drinker socially ostracised.

Upcycling Clothing

This is a pair of trousers I recently upcycled as part of an activity at a club I attend each week.

Weighted Blanket

I created this weighted lap blanket using material I purchased and added binding trim.

Props and Smaller Creations

I enjoy creating things with beadwork and sometimes lead sessions at Girl’s Brigade teaching others.

Below is an example of a sword prop I made. The one on the right is created of foam, plaster of Paris, with a wired centre to allow it to bend. The one on the left is thermo-form plastic, but not yet decorated.

Audrey 2

After watching Little Shop of Horrors, I was inspired to create this Audrey 2, I used Themo-Plastic and wire to make the plant and added some shop-bought leaves. I painted Audrey with Acrylic paints. I am yet to create the pot, so this is a temporary holder.

This is Ratsy a prop that I made for World Book Day based on the character of the Fool from the Farseer Trilogy novels.

Fool Winter Motley for World Book Day 2024

The head is 3d printed and then painted and the pole is a pvc pipe that I cut to the right height.

For the gold, I painted a layer of yellow acrylic and when that dried, I painted it with a coat of Mica powder mixed with PVA glue.

Small World Jars

I have been enjoying making some miniature worlds recently

This is a miniature castle I 3d printed since I was testing what model making techniques I could used for model trains. for this I was inspired by a snow globe from a gift shop near Bran Castle that I saw online and someday plan to remake that snowglobe.

This is another project where I was working with model scenic techniques.

I got a STL file of lots of different rocks form Thingiverse and in the Creality Slicer I modelled the shape of a pond, printed it, and then painted it gray. while it was drying I decided to print an paint some ducks to go into the pond.

Then after all the paint was dry, I cut up a sponge painted it green and put it on the rocks to create moss then added some Epoxy resin to make the water look realistic.

3D Printing

While still learning to use a 3d printer I printed some giant Lego flowers and used spray paint to colour the stem green. It was the first time I had used spray paint so there are a few parts where I put a second coat before it was dry but now I have lots of experience

Embellishing Converse Boots

I designed and created this detachable embellishment for my hi-top converse boots, these were inspired by the Jester aesthetic and are secured with ribbon.

Below is the artwork I generated when I first considered making these.

Stage Lighting

I have supported many productions, both theatre and live music with lighting work. Below is an example of the lighting design I created for the Rocktober Festival Live Music Event.

Design of Lighting and CAD Work

The lighting design work includes the use of WYSIWYG software to generate CAD designs to support the design process, as well as rigging and focusing. The image below left is the set design, the one to the right is my interpretation of this in the software with the schematic lighting plan shown below.
